The street department repairs storm drain lids on city streets that have been installed for more than one year. The developer is responsible for repairing those that have been installed for a lesser period of time. In either case, you may report broken storm drain lids by calling the street department at 205-620-6416 or by submitting an Action Request form.

7. When will my yard be repaired after a water main break?

After the water department repairs a leak, topsoil is normally placed in the yard within 2.5 to 3.5 weeks. Sodding or seeding of the yard is done after the ground has had time to settle.
