Building Department

The Building Department issues building permits and is responsible for inspecting all commercial and residential construction within the city limits. Our purpose is not only to safeguard life, health, and property, and to promote public welfare, but also to make Pelham a better place to reside and to locate your business. This is accomplished through dialogue and enforcement, when necessary.

Plan Submittals

All building plan submittals may be dropped off on the 2nd floor of the Pelham Water Works building, located at 3111 Cummings Street. Please make sure you include all required documents.

Permit Fees & Payments

Permit fees will change, effective April 1, 2021. Read the revised City of Pelham Schedule of Fees (PDF) Payments may be made via mail or phone by dialing 205-620-6480.

Inspections

The City of Pelham’s Building Department conducts inspections Monday-Friday between the hours of       6:30 am-10:30 am and 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm. The inspector will call you at the number provided if there are any concerns or deficiencies.
